RJUC (Racial Justice Unity Center) wants to help end racial inequality and provide dedicated resources for organizations who are seeking help. RJUC serves as a bridge between organizations and coaches who can help end racial inequality in their workplace and build a better future.
Racial inequality is a major issue in the United States today and with little to no resources for those who want to become more inclusive, organizations and individuals are in a tough spot.
In this phase, my main responsibilities were to design the coaching finder, application, and profile management features. This included research, UI/UX design, and prototyping all while ensuring RJUC stayed approachable and intuitive to use.
One of the main issues I saw facing RJUC is the fact that racial inequality in the U.S. is an extremely challenging landscape. I wanted to create a visual look that features a humanistic serif that is approachable and friendly. I introduced a mesh gradient featuring skins tones with a complementary color palette to keep it balanced and not feeling too "Fleshy". Blurring the lines of where the colors meet signifies a message of unity and togetherness.
The overall design of the coaching finder and portal are fairly structured. The user is encouraged to explore and find the perfect coach for their organization similar to how one would search AirBnb's before a vacation. Users can easily search their area or find a coach willing to travel domestically all while ensuring that the coach fits their organization’s needs. Once viewing the coach’s profile the user can read their bio and previous work experiences and see if it's a good match.
Fully responsive approach making sure no details are over looked.

Once a user has found the coach they feel fits their organization the best, they can quickly start the booking process. One of the challenges in this phase was creating booking options that worked for all coaches without being too difficult to plan, implement, and scale. The solution that I designed allows the coach to create packages based on duration, location (in-person or online), and price. Doing this allowed each coach to price their services accurately while ensuring the user knows exactly what they're getting from the beginning. This approach gives the user a sense of control while allowing all types of coaches to create, manage, and maintain all their packages with ease.
Below are a few screens of this process. The user first selects their meeting duration and location, which the coach has created. They then have the ability to select a date and time that works best for them in the following screen. The additional screens are payment followed by a confirmation allowing the user to add the event to their calendar, these pages are not shown.

Everyone who is interested in becoming an RJUC Coach has the ability to do so. All these individuals need to do is apply through their online coaching application. This basic application allows potential coaches to enter in their personal information and be interviewed in order to start accepting new clients via the RJUC Coaching finder. All the information that's entered into the application will help set up their profile once they've been accepted. Below are two screens to gather account and work experience information.

Once approved, the coach will have the ability to start maintaining their own personal profile including adding additional work experience, areas of expertise, and program packages they'd like to offer. The Interface is a WYSIWYG type approach with the coach being able to maintain their public profile with ease.
Easy to add, edit, and remove all pieces of information.

RJUC Coaching finder and Coaching Application are both huge projects. As the solo designer, I learned a lot about being agile and moving quickly. It was a challenge to work at such a large scale but at the end I'm pleased with how it turned out. Hopefully with the launch and user feedback and data this project can be strengthened in order to become a go to for all organizations wanting help to be more racially inclusive.
